2004 Alfa 156 Ti JTS - Interior Lighting Gremlins
For the last 6 months I have had the interior lights (all) come on intermittently. Initially they would come on when I pushed the accelerator to the floor, stay on for 10 seconds and then go out. No problem during the day, but a little embarrassing during the night when it all lights up.
In the last few weeks the lighting situation has worsened. It now happens more regularly. Even under minimal acceleration or while cruising at a steady speed they just come on for 5 - 10 seconds and then fade out.
Alfa dealer suggested it might be a faulty centre console assembly so we changed it, and again no solution but I am A$140.00 out of pocket. Yesterday I noticed that the two front window switched failed to work after a dose of hard acceleration and interior lights doing their thing. Came home and pulled the fuse only to find it was OK. I put the fuse back in and all is working with the windows, but again this morning the lights were on and off again.
Sorry for the long winded parle, but unless I can explain the situation in this manner, you cannot come to grips with the problem.
After reading the above, can anyone maybe point me in the right direction as to were to look. Unfortunately me Alfa dealer has given up.
I have also pulled and checked each and every fuse in the car for bad contacts etc, but they are all OK. Now that I remember, I did have a brand new battery installed (original supplied by Alfa) just as the problem was happening. (could this have something to add to the problem)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (Apart from this problem, the 156 has been a delight to own)
