New MAF performance?

Just wanted to ask, would putting a brand new MAF (Bosch original) improve the performance of the car significantly even if the engine has been running pretty good already?

I have an 156 JTS with about 40k miles on it and it runs ok, so there are no problems that usually relate to bad MAF like rough idle, power cuts in high rev range or flat spots; but I discovered this place where I can get a new original MAF for JTS for half a price that the official Alfa 'stealers' sell it - $AU 990.00 - dealership price, $AU 450.00- price from Bosch distributors in Sydney (its very hard to get any new original parts for Alfa in Australia without paying the full price with 'stealers')

So I was thinking that with my next service I purchase the MAF as well just to see if its gonna get me more 'oomph' out of already good running engine - but is it realy worth it?

Re: New MAF performance?

If there is nothing wrong with your current MAF then I dont think you will see any difference at all.

On my V6 the MAF failed but the new one didnt make any difference to the performance from the engine.

If your loaded then yeah buy a spare and keep it as a spare. Otherwise i don't see the point as you have no problems anyway
