[QUOTE=Smaky;2195820] I know I didn't have my 159ti all that long (3 hours infact thanks to a dodering granny and her Volvo)
i did notice the other day that your car info suggested a quick departure from a 159; but didn't like to ask how that happened! luckily mine survived, but i had 2 near misses in 15 minutes behind the wheel on my first 'alone' journey in brand new 156;
1) dropped off husband at front of glasgow airport, proceeded to carpark. took ticket from machine, paused momentarily as was looking in new car for somewhere to put ticket, moved slightly forward then braked and (probably) shrieked in alarm as barrier had malfuctioned and came down rapidly towards bonnet (would surely have been windscreen or roof had it not been for the delay);
2) left airport, travelled 10 minutes up motorway, ended up at busy roundabout with traffic lights on. stopped at red, when light turned green paused momentarily - again - as i was faffing around with steering wheel stereo controls, pulled up, then braked and (probably) shrieked in alarm - again - as car in front of me hit car in front of them because some stupid person who had found herself in wrong lane at busy roundabout decided to simply drive into correct lane despite it being full of accelerating vehicles;
3) to top it all, i went to big shopping centre, did more faffing around, was approaching doors to leave before i realised that i didn't have car keys. spent entire time backtracking around centre not only in general state of panic but also imagining someone with my keys scouring the nearest carpark for an alfa (which, of course, wouldn't take long to find.)
found keys eventually
i'd never seen/done any of these things before, decided only explanation was that it was all a weird alfa initiation ceremony.
done alright since.
thanks again y'all for responding to this boring thread....
hope 'amusing' story makes up for it.
