156 V6 Auto
Last time I took my 147 in to get rid of the dash noises they lent me a 156 Selespeed. I was very impressed with it. Sure, the gear shifters on the steering wheel (ugly buttons) didn't work too well but apart from that the car felt like it had plenty of power and was so sweet to drive.
Today I took my bella in for her first service and they've lent me a V6 black 156 today with H pattern auto shift. Here are a few things I noticed so far:
A) It really is an auto, driving around using the H pattern like a manual feels really dumb. I can't belive Alfa have got this shifter. Isn't manual and Selespeed enough?!
B) It's silky smooth, so smooth that it desensitises you from the power of the V6. It's burbbly low sound is nice but damn you really can't do a thing in this car. It's almost impossible to drive it hard at all, it's just too smooth. Perhaps it's what most auto's are like?
I'd take a Selespeed 156 over this auto box any day because it feels so much more responsive and revvy than this auto mounted on a V6 and in the end of the day, this car is just too hard to have fun in! (just my opinion of-course).
