Re: 147 rubbish in the rain
This thread has been a very interesting read, thanks.
I got my year 2000 156 back in November which came with (fairly worn) different types of tyres on the front and rear. Here in the Czech Republic it's customary to change tyres in the summer and winter (something to do with insurance companies being very reluctant to pay out if you have a crash in winter on summer tyres, may or may not be law - not sure) so I immediately bought a new set of winter tyres.
But the time to change back is approaching and I'm wondering what to buy. The car currently has the standard 15" wheels and I'm quite tempted to buy some alloys if I can get the pennies together and upgrade to 16". Apart from looking nicer, would there be any benefit to doing this?
What would be your recommendation for good summer tyres and at what kind of price does a 'cheap' tyre stop being a cheap tyre? i really don't know much about it all to be honest... cheers.
