Alfa 156 RIP

Gear knob removed, but...

Right then Alfa chums,

I've cut off my old rubber gear knob only to be left with something resembling a medieval mace!

It's metal, sits on top of the shaft and has about 5 bits sticking out of it.

Looks like I'll have to pop out and buy a hacksaw tomorrow, unless anyone knows any different?

Re: Gear knob removed, but...

I tried changing the gear knob on my old 156....but I don't remember the mace!

I thought it was a plane shaft with four tongues to make it a bit like a cross with a big circular centre in cross section on it???

I did however cut about 6cm off mine to make it more of a short shift!!!
