I mean the checklist the dimbo mechanic is supposed to use (assuming he can read) when doing the relevant services.

Its called a service sheet.

Welcome back zeroseven

FYI the manufacturers servicing requirements for their vehicles are normally referred to as a "service schedule"

Your dealer should be able to provide you with a copy of the schedule, it is also contained within the workshop manual. If there is still a copy of this floating around you may be able to download it.

As for your comments on mechanics, there are skill variations within any profession. I do not know or care what your work is but I find your comments on mechanics pointless and offensive.

In my working and social life I have had the privilege to meet many talented and intelligent people who have dedicated their life to the thankless job of repairing and modifying cars.

I feel it is appropriate to recognise and encourage people who do the right thing, rather than degrading everyone to the level of an incompetent minority.

If you try to adopt a positive attitude towards the people who "pick up the pieces" i'm sure you will eventually find a mechanic who you can trust and possibly even respect. frown
