I think Sears means the clutch speed sensor which is on the front of the gearbox, it is the top plug as you look at it and is brown in colour, it wont leak so you can just pull it out and check for damage like this below.

If you see this damage then it's more likely the jerking is down to a failed mainshaft bearing. like in pic 2

Well, the change of the sensor didn't help for me

The garage thinks that the problem could be in clutch, can it be?

I have changed almost everything - gearbox, pump, actuator, Engine RPM sensor.
