Re: Air filters
You can buy a K&N panel filter to directly replace the original within the air box and they claim to improve power as most do, but it really doesnt do anything you will notice.
I have the K&N 57i induction kit on my 147 and my findings are:
* Stunning sound (Big Smile)
* Torque has been slightly altered in that it delivers more at high revs now and slightly less at low revs.
* No real power gain but you certainly dont lose any as where the filter sits you get plenty of cold air to it, as opposed to some induction kits that mount the filter next to or on top of the engine. AS above, the power is just shifted around.
* It does seem to have upset the MAF very very slightly though as a small flat spot in acceleration appeared when giving it the beans in 3rd at around 4500 - 5000 RPM but it is easily driven through but it's something to consider.
No mods at all. The 57i fits onto the intake pipe that currently you can see going into the top of your air box. I have a picture from when I was half way through fitting mine if you would like to see it jut let me know.
Hope that helps
