Heater fan/Climate control fan

I've just ordered the elearn cd's but could do with a quick answer if anyone has one.

My internal blower isn't working, making driving in this weather almost imposible with the windscreen misted up.
I've checked the fuses under the dash and they all look good! The climate control dials are all on and I can alter the settings but not air flow!
My engine was recently replaced and I don't know if it has worked since then (I've been out of the country, wife has had the car)

I'm not even sure where to access the fan to check the conections, so any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Heater fan/Climate control fan

Fan is positioned behind the glovebox, the fuse is located in the engine bay fuse box and is rated at 40A.
Check for power on the pink (may be red) wire at the fan motor, it should be permanently live (+12V), check for an earth on the other wire (should be orange according to my diagram) when the ignition is on, engine running and fan switch turned up fully, if you probe both fan motor wires you should get 12V give or take a Volt. If you are getting a good reading there then you may have fan motor trouble, fit a new one, if there is not a good reading you should suspect the speed control device (located nearby) or wiring or switch. Plugs on fan motor circuits (the high current circuits anyway) have a tendancy to get hot and burn, check for burnt plugs and cut them out and solder round them. Electrical faults are hard enough to diagnose in person but nigh on impossible via the internet, hope this is some help. PM me with your findings if you want more advice, I own a business specialising in vehilcle electrical systems

Re: Heater fan/Climate control fan

Mine was exactlly the same. It turned out that the fan was clogged with leaves and stuff. My garage didn't even charge me for it as car was in for a service. Can't therefore have been a big job. Might not be this but could be a quick easy fix. Good luck.
