Re: 2004 156 Selespeed New Owner*Australia*
Hey guys, couple of more questions before I take the car in for a service, so i know what to expect..
1) when i start the car in the mornings, the cold engine while idle & warming up is not smooth (can feel it inside) but after a few mins as the engine warms up it becomes smooth. is this normal?
2) my temperature gauge mostly when i've bothered to notice sits around the 70-80mark, goes to 90+ in traffic
3) when i do get the cambelt changed alot of guys on forums stating replace the variator as well is it true?
4) while driving the other day in manual mode, i stopped for a while but left the key into mar position(ignition lights on), i reckon the battery has never been replaced since new(hence not performing to full capacity 4 years old), and as i started to drive off, the car engaged into city mode and the selespeed warning sign began to flash (no beep) i became concerned
and stopped, to check it out. Gear 1 was completely stuck, i could not restart the car, as the car was stuck in gear 1 so i let the hand brake down and it disengaged, started the car and drove home in city mode, but gear shifiting was fine it was shifting up to gear 5 and no beep no warnings.. experienced anything like this?? i read in the Selespeed Pump Tantrums thread that the Battery must be 100% to avoid these selespeed pump tantrums, as the most likely cause is no pressure in the pumps?
Thanks in advance
