V6 Lambda Sensor

Hi there,

Can anyone give me a definative answer to tell if the lambda sensor is at fault please? Does a dash light appear etc......

I have probs with eng cutting out at junctions etc occasionally.

Just replaced battery as previous one was only at 12.1v, so was thinking it was a little tired when running heater, air con, lights etc, which may cause it to struggle when coming to a stop.
Also can the M.A.F be unplugged on a v6 and run to see if it's any better. Performance seems fine but fuel economy is affected i think.

Exhaust system is all new as well, so not blowing.

Re: V6 Lambda Sensor

Have a read throught this thread:

Could be throttle valve needs a clean / reset, or the MAF (it unplugs, plug is on the engine side of the air induction chamber on the vertical bit just to the side of the battery. Unplugging will reduce performance a bit (and put injector light on) ... or the lambda as you suggest.

I had a not quite right idel for a long time before a new lambda cured it - cleaning the MAF and throttle body and numerous resets did improve things , but the dodgy idle gradually got worse.

I diagnosed the lambda by looking at it's output on alfadiag, though I recall seeing a post about someone plugging an AVO in directly. Plenty of lambda websites will tell you what a healthy lambda signal looks like.
