<strong>I have a 156, there is a knocking noise on the steering when stationary moving it from side to side - it has had two new steering racks fitted by Alfa GB but now they have told me to go away and stop complaining - there is nothing wrong with my car !!!
Has anyone else experienced this problem and know what causes it and how to fix it !!!

It was identified as the steering rod ball joint, haven't fix it yet. The symptoms are exactly as you described, and it knocks also when going over bumpy stretches. Since you've replace the racks(I assume we're talking about about the same part), hasn't the knocking gone away?
