Hi,

May I have the radio code for my Alfa GT please? The stickers on top have worn away, but the numbers etched on the sides are BP330147129481, 8 635 123 208 2. There a small sticker which reads Alfa 937 CD NS 56350036294.

Hope this helps, kind regards,

Mark

Thanks I tried that and the message came up as wait and then went back to _ _ _ _
I am wondering if the radio is now incompatible with the ECU which I had to change due to putting in a new key barrel and steering column?

If the display continually shows "WAIT" then the unit may be codelocked and will need to be left switched on up for up to two hours to reset before another code entry attempt is possible. If it does not reset after this time, or the display shows "CANCHECK" , then the unit will need to be reset and reprogrammed for use in your car!

This stereo is electronically paired to the engine management system of the vehicle it came out of using very sophisticated CAN-BUS system technology. When it is first powered up, it will communicate with the vehicle, and a message of "WAIT" will appear whilst this process is in operation. If communication has been successfull, it will prompt for the code number to be entered. However, if removed and refitted into a different vehicle other than the original one, it will not recognise the coded CANBUS signals of the new car, and will instead display an error message of "CANCHECK".

after changing ecu etc do you have a blinking odometer ? In that case, I would first do a "proxi alignment" before going on ....

OK - thank you. Is that something we would have to get Alfa to do?

It's basically a fairly simple procedure, whereby after a command via the OBD bus the bodycomputer checks/does inventory of all available devices. Probably takes around 10 minutes max. There are 2 ways to go :
1) ask Alfa dealer to do this, using the Alfa test computer "examiner"
2) DIY, using pc, interface & cable (see Multiecuscan - Diagnostics software for Italian cars )

Only for 147,156 and GT factory fitted Blaupunkt radios.. POST 2001.

Then enter your serial number ... starting BP

One of our friendly helpers will be along with a code for you shortly
i recently bought a 2009 159 and the head unit is blocked and the blue and me has been removed, i thought i could easily get the code and unblock it but aparently not as it wouldnt let me put it in as its blocked.
So my next quest was to find a s/h head unit and a blue and me, have found one but i read somewhere that the blue and me must be designed to work with the car model year, if this is correct how can i ensure compatibility...its all bit frustrating and am thinking of bunging an aftermarket head unit in the hole as i am fed up with no sounds but have a limited budget.

hope someone can advise re compatibility potential issues before i go nuts listening to all the noises and sounds a different car makes and imajining the engine blowing up/ wheels falling off
