Re: Manual or Selespeed (147)
My sillyspeed is great to drive. My experience with it is good, only having one issue since I bought it two years ago. The guys on this site helpedme bgtime, and after being quoted £1500 from Alfa, I repaired it for £55....Not a bad saving. I think the biggest problem is the lack of familiarity withthe selespeed actuator by the dealers, always wanting to replace the actuator rather than fixing it, almost like replacing the engine, rather than putting a new rocker cover gasket in! There are a number of good dealers around, and a number of good garages that arent dealers, but similarly, for whatever reason, a lot of dealers dont get the necessary experience to diagnose and fix the selespeed units!
