Re: £25 for changing a side light bulb!
More or less on-topic, lights related Alfa workshop charges, I got a remarkably reasonable bill last month from an AR dealer in Switzerland, which is one of the most expensive countries in Europe. Following a fairly minor traffic shunt near Chamonix, I realised as night fell, that the lights on my 159 weren't pointing in quite the right directions, the entire front panel having become slightly misaligned. I stopped next day at the first Alfa dealer I passed, which happened to be Garage Georgi in Biasca in southern Switzerland. I explained everything to to the Manager, who's English was rather better than my Italian. He sent me to their workshops, where the Foreman climbed out from underneath a Brera to check my lights with the beam-setter, all the time carrying on an animated conversation with someone on his phone. I went back upstairs to see the Manager, also permanently on his phone apparently, who when pressed told me that CHF20 should cover about 20 minutes work. When I got my credit card thing, this translated as £10.32, including the usual foreign commission charge. Pretty reasonably I thought, but a bit too far to take your car for a service, unfortunately.
