Twitchy Handling?????

Hi peeps,

I was wondering if u could give me some advice... my car feels a bit "twitchy"?? Its really weird to describe but recently i've beeng rabbing my steering wheel really tightly!

The car normally pulls to the left gently, but recently it's like there's a giant magnet to the left of it and it makes sudden movements??? it just feels very twitchy (almost unpredictable)!

This all came about since i changed my tyre pressure, to what was recommended in the book??

Anyone have any ideas on what i should do... i was thinking to have the geometry/tracking (?) checked???? All advice appreciated!

What tyre pressure do you have? I have mine at 2.2 bar front and back. Since the tires are a little bit harder then minimum (2.1 bar), the car is a little bit twitchy when I ride over a highway lane which has the two tracks due to heavy traffic (I hope you understand). But I think it's better in handling then when using minimum tyre pressure. Not a solution/answer, but just a remark....

if your car was going straight before changing tire pressures, propably you have differernt pressures to the right tires from the left.

Another thing to take into consideration is the slant of the road.

Certain roads slant towards the outside/kerb, and if you are driving straight and let go of the wheel (or just hold it very lightly) you will feel the car pulling towards the kerb.

The best way to check your wheel allignment and steering is to find a road (like a straight section of a track) and point the car in a direction and drive without steering....

OK the car used to pull to the left, but only slightly and very slowly as they are meant to(?)... but now its pulls a lot harder??

I've got the 16"ers and they dont have low profiles on them. The pressure is 2.3 i think, and its the same on all tires... I used an electronic pump where u set the pressure and it accurately inflates/deflates all tyres!

Have heard this one before. I thought it was something with suspension. Please try to search the forums, or perhaps Selespeed knows about this.

(I always refer to him, he seems to know a lot as he has one of the 1st 147's > lot of probs )

17 inch wheels and low profile tyres,
