Re: Power extraction out of a 1.6ts! HELP!
To be honest, I'm not 100% certain on tuning modifcations to Alfa's, but I'm sure you are going along the right ways to make some "sensible modifications" to your car.
I have owned a 1991 Lancia Delta HF Turbo (1.6) for around 5 years now - I brought it as a complete wreck, both chasis and engine wise, and some of the guys on here have approached me at the Auto Italia shows about it. When I brought it, I fitted a K & N intake kit, Powerflow stainless steel exhaust system, FSE adjustable fuel pressure regulator and fitted some decent spark plugs and HT leads. This was enough to give a noticeable increase in performance.
I know that the HF Turbo and 147 are two different leagues of car, but I brought my HF Turbo because I wanted a restoration project and something that wasn't an Integrale, although what I did discover was that parts and accessories for the 4x4 Integrale are much easier to source than the HF Turbo, simply because it is more desirable I guess? Like I said, I am no expert in terms of what sort of modifications / tuning parts are available for Alfa Romeos, although if you want more performance, why not buy a 2.0 TS 147 or maybe the V6 if you can stretch, as you may find that you have trouble finding bits for your 1.6 TS 147 ?
Like I said, I'm not 100% certain of what's available for your Alfa, although sensible modifcations like the exhaust + filter etc will be good enough I guess! If it helps, I have attatched a specification sheet with all the modifications I have done to my car - different car, but may give you some sort of guidance!
