Re: Koni FSD's and Eibach Pro springs on 156 JTS
What you describe are exactly as the springs for the Koni Sport with the adjustable dampers. These front springs are barely, if at all, progressive. I recently took these off a 156 due to the poor ride amongst other issues. The adjustable dampers were retained and OE Sportpack springs were fitted. It appeared to make a big difference, but it really depends what you are looking for. I'm probably in the minority who think that the Koni springs are too harsh. Like I've said before, if you can live with the ride of a 155, then just fit them and it won't bother you. If you think a 155 rides poorly, then my advice is to avoid the Koni springs. The Eibach springs ride much better.
Another thing to consider when using adjustable dampers is that I've seen as many badly set up as well set up. A miss-match of spring and damper rates can provide a bad ride and bad handling from kits which should actually work very well.
