Cupholders in cars are one of my pet hates. If you want cupholders buy a Chrysler Voyager (doesn't it hold the record for the most cupholders per occupant?).
Alfas are for driving not for drinking coke/coffee! Having said that on long trips I always take a bicycle water bottle along. Too big to fit in a cupholder anyway, if I put the passenger seat in a certain position I can wedge the bottle between the cushion and the console and having a sealable top means it doesn't leak.
I once read something written by a car designer who was defending his car that had no cupholders. It went something like this:
Coffee is best enjoyed in a cafe not behind the wheel of a car.
Just my opinion on cupholders. Sort of like driving around with a cellphone glued to your ear (legal in NZ).
