Thanks for all the help guys, glad I could be the source of a little entertainment after all that frustration! Thank you for the compliment Patrick, I'd love to take you for a spin but I live a long way away! The wheels are the standard Selespeed alloys, the 16" that came with the car. I think they're very pretty and they're also a doddle to clean which is a plus. They're also quite difficult to kerb-damage which is good. The handling's not as sharp as my old 155 but I like the extra bit of comfort, so next year I plan to get stiffer shocks and maybe a stiffer anti-roll bar. I want to make the feel a bit tauter but without lowering the car or losing the comfort (getting on a bit now you know!)And with the amount and size of potholes around now I feel that if I stiffened her up too much and got 17"ers, I'd be looking at having to regularly replace egg-shaped wheels.
No offence Mav, but as you yourself admitted, wheelnut torque settings aren't the most exciting vital statistic in the world (although I appreciate, very important!) The little silvery thing behind the front wheel arch is a little Alfa serpent which are available from AROC, around £3 a pair, I think, I got mine at the Spring Alfa day at Gaydon this year. A nice little touch to make her stand out from the bloody reps on the Motorway, but without looking too boy racer-ish. wink
