Re: Immobiliser?-no code light
RAC man came out last night and after consulting his little pc, disconnected the battery completely and tried to drain the remainde rof the charge out of the system - reconnected it and no joy.
Then removed 2 of the 7.5amp fuses from the upper fuse rack and left it for 2 mins, plugged them back in - still no joy.
Next on the list was to disconnect the battery again, and push the bonnet switch in to convince the car that the bonnet was closed and leave for 15 minutes, did that and still no joy.
Tried inertia switch - not that.
Then, when he tried to crank after reconnecting the battery the fuel pump wasn't priming.
He seems to think that the alarm ECU has gone in to a lockout status where it simply won't allow certain areas of the system to access. Now I'm ever the optimist on this, but would that cause the "CODE" system not to power up at all, make the indicators not flash when locking and unlocking and make the alarm LED not come on - get in the car with the ignition on and shut the drivers door and the alarm emits 10 beeps and the airbag light glows dimly still.
I'm at my wits end with this bloody thing, have left the battery disconnected again overnight, going to pull all relevant fuel injection and alarm fuses and relays out and double check them, let it all power down until the weekend and then reconnect. If that doesn't work then I guess I'm off to source a new alarm ECU, keys set, igniton set, immobiliser set and whatever else I need.....or I might just bin the sodding thing altogether
