I did mine and did not remove the battery, the key is to get the right length socket extension to get at the lower (impossible to see) bolt. I followed Gazza's tips and that worked out fine - cheers for that. Don't forget new clips, a clip driver made the job much easier when replacing them; and don't forget the right anti-freeze, mine was red - don't mix different types - I lost just under a litre.
Other than that, plan the job carefully and don't rush.
