First of all I want to say that my first reaction when seeing the photo's was exactly like G-147 "Nooooooo, not that grill again!"
Second of all is, I think I'm with the guys who say that the black lip under the front bumper isn't that important as it is stapled on......but then again I might be TOTALLY WRONG.
Anyway, mine is still on and I won't take it off, because personally I love the looks of it. Still, when sometimes I also scratch the lip when going over bumps, but it never let loose. Only this summer when I was in morocco, I was sort of off-roading and the lip ploughed into the ground and a couple of staples let go. But I'll let my dealer sort this out for me at the next service.
But I definitely have a question: Since I live in Amsterdam and Amsterdam is DEFINITELY BUMP CITY NO 1 in the world, I can't understand people scratching the lip of the car that often. This either means you're travelling to fast over the bumps, or you don't know how to ride over traffic bumps (no offense guys and gals! wink )
In general first or second gear (depends if the bump is K2-size or normal size) and idling the engine works PERFECTLY! No scratch, no sound! I think they should include a course "How to ride over traffic bumps for dummies
). I'll have one of these please, hahahaha!
