Re: If I was to think about selling..
It's a good idea. CAR Magazine July 1998 in GTV V6 comparison test saying that the 156 would be quite some car with the 3 litre V6.
List it on eBay when they are doing a cheap listing offer and set a reserve? I am sure many deals are done after a car is seen on eBay.
As has been said, it's worth what people are prepared to pay, and eBay is one way of gauging it.
But it's distressed times in which we live.
I was going to bid on a standard V6 near me on eBay, an S plate with lots of work done recently and the vendor pulled it as he said he had had an offer of £1150, it was a nice colour, nice leather but no wooden wheel.
I think GTA values will drop again next year, once people have paid £400 a year in road tax.
It'll just wind people up. Why should you pay double what an equally emission rich car emits just because yours is a year, or two newer.
I can only think Pre-2001 166 and 156 prices will get to be pretty much the same as post March 2001 ones. They'll level off.
I am not sure many people paying their own bills will stomach over a pound a day just drive your car on the road, what with all the other bills.
How many companies will be prepared to pay £400 VED? Perhaps if you're the Co. owner, or a self employed 1 or 2 man band you can justify it?
Or can it be claimed back from the tax man?
