Appeal to everyone who has the Bose system in their 147
It seems from posts to this forum that some Bose systems do not have the "power on" feature that mine has. Its either that or there is some confusion over what the symptoms are.
I would be interested to find out for sure because I would like my £500+ option to work like it should.
These are the symptoms my car has:
Start the ignition and make sure the Bose system is switched on and select a source other than the tuner/radio (e.g the cd or cd-changer if you have one) and set the volume to 30.
Turn the ignition off (wait for a while) and then back on again. Go immediately to the rear hatch and put your head next to the Bose logo on the trim that covers the subwoofer and amplifier. You should notice that there is sound coming from the subwoofer. Turn the volume DOWN to 28 or 27 and you should notice a distinct change in the quality of the sound that may be accompanied by a sort of pop/click/thud. If you go to the rear hatch you should notice a increase in the amount of bass coming from the subwoofer even though you turned the volume down.
If you repeat this when the tuner is the source at power on, the bass is as you would expect and there is not thud/pop/click when you adjust the volume.
