The twinspark engines use platinum tipped plugs, and they should be replaced at 100.000 kilometers.
My current car has only covered 45.000, so there's a long way to go yet.
My previous car, a 155 Super, was up for it's 100.000 Km service when I sold it. Took the plugs out, out of curiosity, and found them looking brand new. In Denmark the Alfa dealers are asking €190 for the lot.
Had a 33 16V once, it also used Platinum plugs, whether they had been changes by the previous owner or not, I'm not sure of, by the time it had covered 140.000 the plugs still looked and worked fine.
