Re: New tyres for 2001 156SW 2.0TS
I've put Kumhos on my 147s - good tyre, not expensive (£59 for 205/55/16 or 215/45/17) soft enough on a low profile not to ruin the ride quality, stick to the road wet or dry. My choice I know but I'm not driving at the limit all the time and I don't want to spend all my money on tyres: was quoted today £604 for a set of Pirellis today - I paid £236 for Kumho. Would the Pirellis be £368 better? Personally, I don't think they would.
Had Bridgestones on my 159 (rock hard) and Pirelli Rossos (roly poly)My brother has Toyos on his C2 and he thinks they are overpriced underperformers. My Dad has Dunlops on his car and although he drives like an oap (well he is) he's done over 20,000miles + loads of tread left. His Golf on the other hand has P6000s and they were shot after 11,500miles. Heard a lot of good stuff about the vredesteins but is it worth the extra???
