Cambelt DIY

Morning, decided to do cambelt and variator myself. i've got a couple spaners. could somebody tell me know which parts i hav to change while im changing cambelt, variator, tensioners....
do i need some special tools?

she's 156 1.6 2001

ps. is there like a heynes manual for alfas? I've took apart vw engine using haynes, very helpfull.

You'll need cam locking tools and a copy of eLearn (Haynes Manual for alfa's)

you'll need a vice / mole grips / BIG hammer too probably to separate the variator from the camshaft

Also a Torx T40 (or Ribe Bits) to undo the screws on the cam belt and camshaft covers. I also modified a 10mm spanner by bending it, so that it would undo and do up the balance shaft belt tensioner.

You will also need a 15mm recessed spanner to undo the auxillary belt fiexd tensioner. A socket will not fit due to the chassis rail.

I used a 15mm socket with the square drive cut off, and half a spanner welded to its top.
