156 Engine Mishaps Related?
Do I have lots of problems or, as I suspect, are they all related?
It's a 2.0 JTS with 35,000 on the clock. First it overheats, and is diagnosed by the excellent Bianco's in Surrey as having a leaking head gasket which is pressurising the cooling system. Head skimmed, gasket replaced.
Less than three hundred miles later, Motor Control System Failure. As normal, keep driving, but decide to book in. Too late - Low Oil Pressure warning. (Still plenty of good condition oil up the dipstick). Take to nearest main dealer, who diagnoses:
1) Oil radiator failure, oil in coolant (and presumably vice versa).
2) Failed catalytic converter.
Can this be coincidence? I don't believe in fate, can't drive to Mt Olympus to consult the oracle, but I do believe in the Alfa Owner forum... All views welcome!
