At long last I have finally ordered my 147. No going back now. The deposit cheque and order form is in the post.
For those who are interested. I ordered the car through Smart Alfa. Zero Seven warned me about not taking their delivery times on trust and I heeded his warning, but as they are not Guarunteeing the delivery time I have to leave it on trust that I will get the car eventually. I guess this is the same with any order regardless of who it's through (even an Offical dealer).
Smart Alfa don't usually sell cars with Connect Nav+ as they cannot Guarauntee delivery dates. So they agreed to order me one if I went without a Guraunteed delivery date.
It's cool as I've waited long enough. As Alfa Romeo Italy shut down during August I think I am looking at best case senario of 6 months.
Ultimately the reson I went with them is they were able to beat my personal import cost via either Holland and Denmark.
Other benefits are:
I get a 3year Alfa World Warranty rather than a 2 year Pan European Warranty if I had imported myself.
1 Year AA cover.
I don't have to do the trip myself.
I get a years free subscription to Auto Italia Magazine thrown in (may not seem much but it's a nice gesture). They advertise in the magazine so get good rates.
Final price is £17,500 for the following:
Alfa 147 3 Door 2.0 Selespeed
17" Super Sport Alloys
Gabianno Blue Metalic Paint
Red MOMO Leather (MMMmmmmm!)
The best price I would get through Europe due to increased prices was £18,000 minus the benefits I stated above.
So I am still saving £3,500 over UK list price so I'm a very happy bunny.
