As for CONNECT, Fiat Auto group's ground-breaking satellite navigation and communications system, the 147 is the first car to offer such an advanced integrated system of this type. Its crucial differentiator from rivals is connection to a live operator for information and assistance at the touch of just one button.
CONNECT is an option for the 147 that comes in three versions. The base version incorporates radio, CD, GPS, dual-band phone and information services for £480, plus an annual subscription of £150. CONNECT Nav adds pictogram satellite navigation at £770, while CONNECT Nav+ adds full colour map sat-nav and voice control module with voice memory for a price of £1,020. The latter on test was truly impressive. But because CONNECT will be rolled out across the whole Fiat/Alfa/Lancia range
The operators in Italy use information from CNN, Trafficmaster, Michelin, Time Out, OAG. Europe Assitsance & Targa Assistance to provide information or services via their operator. They are not available in car other than by being sent by a Connect operator in Italy.
