I had this issue for months, the garage tried once, replacing a cat sensor before I realised they were guessing as, despite the err it could be a host of things and them fiddling breaks things
In the end I found the issue to be the wire from sensor to loom was left dangling rather than clipped in. It was resting on the ex manifold so once the engine got hot, resistance went down and the signals suddenly shot up and the ECM saw that as an out of bounds reading and lit up the light. It was as simple as that, moved the wire and 3 starts later, light off for 3 months so far.
How did it get that way, cambelt replacement, as above, when people fiddle, things break
There's nothing in the dark that isn't there in the light ..... except fear
