Hi, I'm new here, however, I've been following this forum for several weeks now. I'm the proud owner of a 2002 Alfa 156 V6 with a sport package, and I must agree to almost all of what I've read on this forum. Even so, it took me a while to start writing because I felt like I didn't have a "worthy" subject to start with, and just replying to a message simply didn't feel right to me.
So, here it goes. The break I was looking for came last Friday, in a parking lot. I had just locked my car after picking up my forgotten wallet
, and the lights were still on from the remote locking mechanism. Just then, a bunch of five teenagers were beside me while we waited for the elevator to arrive. One of them asked another while looking at my car (Alfa Red by the way), if he would like to have an Alfa Romeo, and he replied, I quote "I don't like those pieces of s**t, I want a Toyota!". My first reaction was to "politely" ask him why. However, I restrained myself, not easily I must admit.
Later that night, I realized that we are actually different from other car owners, we may not have enough money to buy, in my case the Ferrari I want, but we do have something must people don't realize, (or don't have!) an impressive GOOD TASTE when picking an automobile. We drive rolling works of art, nothing less. And they back they're looks with beatifully powerful engines! And also, here in Guatemala they're also rare, that's part of their beauty! We have enough beemers, mercs and Audis to throw around, but very few Alfas, now that's special!
So there you have it, I hope you liked my little "experience" with my Alfa.
Greetings from Guatemala,
