Re: 156 sump, elec window, tempratures, suspension
firstly welcome ....
1. Could be a motor problem or the mechanism is getting stuck. You'll need to strip off the door panel to see what is happening. You should be able to pick up 2nd hand ones fairly easily ... one the mainland anyway! Some breakers will ship to Ireland ... it's matter of hunting around.
2, It's very easy to strip the thread in the sump, and it sounds like this has happened. You might be able to pick up a 2nd hand sump from somewhere or get yours helicoiled.
3. 60 is too low and it's likely your thermostat is stuck open. If it's over heating, are the fans running? These should cut in around 95C at slow speed, then fast speed if it exceeds that. If the fans don't cut in at all, then it could be the resistor on the back of the rad. This makes the fans run slow, and if it breaks it can stop the fans altogether. easy swap but probably a dealer only part. The other possible fix is a new rad as these don't last more than about 7 years ...
4. Upper wishbones bushes have dried out. You can get new bushes, but with 60K on the clock, the balljoints are going to be wearing, so just get new wishbones.
5. radio doesn't switch off with the ignition. You have to turn it off but it will shut off after about 15-20 mins. The radio is built into the rear screen and there is an amplifier built in behind the rear panel to the side of the rear seat. Sounds like its hunting for a station and could be the aerial isn't picking up.
