Where to place axle stands - front 147

Hello,

I did a search but didnt find exactly what I was after...

I want to put the car on axle stands in order to inspect the flexi pipe and see if I can do something about the rattling...

If I use the lifting point to raise the front with the hydraulic jack, then where should I place the axle stands?

Many thanks,
Sol

Re: Where to place axle stands - front 147

Some say on the jigging/datum points. Those wee 'boxy' bits with a hole in them, at the front, just in from the inner sill. Personally I always supported Bella under the sill lip, as measured from the front, as indicated in the handbook. Hardwood triangular blocks in the 'V' of the axle stands and a bit of old towelling for good measure. Rear wheels handbrake on, chocked front and rear too.:
