Probably like the rest of you, i live my life with a smile on my face and assume everything is cool in this crazy world of ours.
What i actually forgot is that the world is full of *******s (you lot excluded of course!)some of whom decided to break into my beloved 147 over the weekend and stole my wallet, the car was on my drive by the way!
Obviously i shouldn't have left it in there in the first place and i dont normally make a habit of doing so.
Anyways....the purpose of this post is not to turn you all into paranoid vigilantes but simply to remind you to take everything out of your car when you leave it somewhere so you dont have to go through the hassle and heartache that i have had to.

I must admit that I go through the same fear every time I have to go soemwhere withe the Red Pepper and it isn't the office or home (where I have a secure place to park); whenever I am invited out for a dinner or equivalent I prefer to drive round the block 10 times in order to find a place as close to the front door as possible so as to see the car or at least hear the alarm if it goes off.
With my previous car, I had it parked outside a friend's house and I heard an alarm go of: I think I did the 100m dash faster than in the olympics when I heard it - It was only a false alarm though. Having said that, I still go check the bella out every time I hear a car alarm going off...
Good luck and all the best for the recovery plans...

Thanks for all your comments chaps...yes the wallet was on display but in the drivers door and it was 3:30am so they had to have had a torch with them. Yes they did smash the window and i had to wait 5 days for Autoglass to find a window (one of the downsides of having such a sexy motor i suppose!)
You can never stop these ****s but i have now had CCTV fitted at home covering the driveway and my side and front doors so if they decide to come back i can send the police a nice photo of them!
********s aren't they? Sorry to hear that Moby. Same happened to me with my Punto, left a CD wallett on the passenger seat. Had to have new locks all round and had to replace 20 CD's from my collection.
Sorry friend for what happend to you. I can understand how you feel because few months ago some M****r F****rs scratch my two passenger doors. So I had to paint both doors.
I hope you fix your car as soon as possibe.
Talking of scratches, some cu*t took something nice and sharp to the passenger door of my 147 and "drew" two paralell lines from the front of the door to just under the rear side window...
I am now looking at how to fix the problem and then fix the cu*ts who did it (if I ever find them)...
It happened to my Punto at least 3times! 1st the passenger then the driver side then they just broke the whole thing and left the lock HANGING on the door panel with a big hole! The worst thing was there is nothing in the car which they could take. Cos they already took my MD, leather bag, favourite jacket...etc the 1st time! They broke the door for nothing! Very annoying!! I had to replace the lock and door panel since then I don't feel safe to park in the street anymore and sold my old New Punto which was only 18months old!!! They are just a bunch of street rat m....r f....s! which should burn alive or have their hands cut off!!! ops.... have I gone too far???
Hope nothing like that is gonna happen to my 147!
BTW Moby, did the alarm went off?
Good news guys 'n gals; I have found/improvised a contigency plan for when I leave my 147 out on the street in the evenings for short time periods (outside the flat so as not to go through all the hassle of opening and closing garages): its called and airgun!
Small, cheap and very accurate indeed (laser pointing sight included) for the equivalent of about 80 pounds... If I ever hear a car alarm in the evening, I will grap the gun and check my bella...
Watch out you bastar*s: son't even THINK about hurting or even touching my car again!!!!
