Posts: n/a Imports - Importing Info has sold a few impoted 147's now, However, this information is mainly for people doing some of the import/quotation work themselves.

Is the price you were quoted for the latest UK specification car?
Check the specification very carefully and check how long the car has been sitting, there are some cars that were manufactured 10 months ago still waiting to be sold!!!
Check what is included with the quote?
You need to check that the price includes on the road charges and that the agent tax and registration charges are included and find out if you have been left to sort out any documentation.

Are you importing the car to the UK yourself?
Check that all foreign agent fees are included and that the VAT aspect has been added to the total cost of the quote!
Also don't forget to add the cost of UK road tax and DVLA first registration fees.

If you are collecting the car yourself at a dealership in Europe
Is the cost of the transit plates, temporary registration and insurance included?
Have you taken the cost of your ferries, airfares, hotel bills and petrol into account? It seems most people overspend in this area.

Our quotations are all inclusive on the road prices which you can compare directly with your local UK dealership, but before making any decisions we will always suggest you obtain written quotes from various brokers then compare us carefully, taking the above points into consideration.
BE CAREFUL - Many brokers will quote you unrealistically quick delivery times just to secure your business. Try to speak to previous customers if you can, as sometimes these importers are bedroom dot-com businesses and these type never see your car. We only use Monza for our imports and they have been importing Alfa Romeos since 1997. wants you to get the best deal available, that is why we keep in touch with all our stock suppliers on a weekly basis, we can find out what's coming into the country and where.
