I wonder... turn the air blower off completely, then go for a drive, if the buzzing stops then it's possibly the ventilation fan moving in it's mounts or a worn spindle on it.
You wonder dead right Smaky!
How bizarre! Only really seemed to happen on right lock (eg on RABs), not on left lock. Anyway, I thought I'd give it a try so there I was, getting strange looks from people as I sailed round a RAB about 14 times
. 'ZZZZZ' went the steering column, '***** you, grrr!' I thought! But I turned off the fan and blow me (pardon the pun) it went!! I tried different fan speeds but the same noise, whatever setting. But with fan set to off, off went the annoying wasp - infact, maybe there is a wasp living in there and it p*sses him off when I operate the fan?
I didn't try different direction settings, face, middle and feet etc, but I don't imagine that would make a difference, there's only one fan, routed in different directions, yes?
Many thanks indeed Smaky!
Hopefully a new fan won't be too expensive, any idea anyone? Interior (and exterior) facelift 2005 156.
