David C> I went to Alfa dealer and they told me that based on the number of the Body they can order a new key and they will charge me about 1000lv equal to near 500 pounds which I find redicilous...
Crespo2121> what do you mean by unput the immobiliser code? - - I red your thread by entering the code with the accelerator
BUT I don't have/know the code. I don't have a security card/code either in order to program a new key.
I have only 1 single key. At the moment I don't have problems driving the car, except that the buttons on the remote control does not work
I lock /unlock my car with the key pluged in the lock.
When I push the buttons of the remote control the LED is flashing but nothing happens.
I thought the the remote control is out of sync with the receiver in the car. When the dealer told me the absurd price of nearly 500pounds for a new key he advised me to go to a known key/alarm shop (Toyaga) and they can provide some assistance.
After I spoke with the guy he first thought that the battery of the remote is drained, but after replacing it nothing happened... So he put the key to some device and started to push the buttons and he said that the remote control does not emit signal. He told me that he has to "learn" it and it will take him an hour for the procedure...
Because I have only 1 key without security card code or anything else I wonder should I try this procedure.
What I want to ask is... if the remote control does not send signal how come I have no problems starting the car and driving it?
I guess there is a signal for the alarm/central locking and another for this INCREDIBLE CODE that will enable the car to run. How this code is sent to the body control unit if the remote control does not emit signal?
Thank you in advance
