Believe or not but I know a guy who works in a Fiat garage and he drove a 147 for a while.... and he managed to do 230 in it..... Now I have no reason to not believe him and the 147 had NO extra mods or anything... Just standard factory car....
Now I wonder if any 2.0 can do this?
Well the only way to prove it is to take a foto...
So the next time I am going to try and get him to take a foto..
But then you probably say that the car is modi... well that you just goig to have to take my word for it. And as you going have to take my word for that... until I can get a foto of the speedo you going have to take my word for the 230Km/h!!!
pushed the pedale to the metal this night on my JTD....all i got was about 191 km/h.. just like the specs say... I noticed the rev meter being at approx. 4000 rpm...adding another 40 or so km's would mean my Bella would be seriousely in the red zone...I doubt that 230 is reallistic.. :-) JMHO
Specs in Belgium for the JTD are 210km/h, given by Alfa!
But as said, the speedo meter always overread!
Measured speed by car magazine was 201km/h on testdriving it.
I believe that it is possible to get it up to 230km/h, after an very good drive-in of the car.
At my previous work we had a peugeot 306 HDI stationwagen and we had that topped at 225km/h at speedo meter!!! (that's a 90PK, Alfa's is 115PK)
Boas bodhi, tudo bem?
Tenho de escrever em Inglês senão ninguém percebe
The top speed in strait line of my 147 1.6 (120cv) before BMC CDA air filter it was +- 216Km/h.
Maybe a little more depending of the road, but I think that the maximum top speed reaching the read line is +-220 +-225Km/h.
The 147 JTD it’s less rotating than the TS, I think its difficult to reach 230Km/h !
But there are other thinks that can give bad readings, like the size of the tyre, etc…
I don't know wich spec's you have, but in the manual i have ( and in all the articles i have read in Belgian automagazines about the 147)
it always says the max speed is 191km/h...wich is the speed i could reach ..no mather how hard i pushed...
And my 147 does 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) in 3 seconds. Raced a Ferrari 360 the other day and he didn't have a chance. My 147 is SOooooo fast, never mind what Alfa say.
The only way a non tuned JTD could do 230 kph would be if it was being towed by a Dodge Viper.
I did hit "200" not so long ago, probably 190 real KM's
No way he did 230km... even a chiptuned version (140hp-305nm) isn't able to go faster then 210 real KM's.
And that is simply because the gearbox ratio doesn't allow higher speeds.
Yeah, a standard JTD has 115hp and a 2.0 150hp.
the JTD has 275nm of torque and a 2.0 only 181nm...
If a 2.0 driver doesn't shift down while accelerating on the highway,
(I know... a bit silly of me comparing, but it's a real life situation)
a JTD will overtake him :-)
Nothing new... every 2.0 driver probably raced a TDI (115hp) before.
Guys, I know that diesel technology has improved a great deal recently, but a 1.9 JTD doing 230Km/h...I very stongly doubt it.
If it is really the case, I would definately lite to see it and test it in real life.
My 1.6 (120bhp) can reach just over 210Km/h on a flat straight motorway (empty car, being followed by a friend with a VR6).
I know that the VW TDIs (especially if the TDI tags are in red letters) rock, but the Alfa 147 diesel I think not that much....
