Is my gearbox screwed ??

Have been complaining to my Alfa garage about a tapping noise from near the base of my gearstick on my 156. They looked at it 3 times, and said it was just the oil lubricating the gears, which is controlled by a variator. This is what was making the noise they said.

Visited them this evening to complain, as the noise is getting louder and more frequent. They said they would look at it next Wednesday.

Anwyay, on my way home, about 100 yards from my house, a loud scraping noise starts coming from the gearbox. I drove the car an hour later and it was gone. I didn't tell my garage that though. I rang them in a panic as soon as I got home. They said they would look at it in the morning. I'm hoping it's just some cable or something which was vibrating. I'll also ask them to fix the centre console. Last time they went at the car they didn't put it back right and all the plastics creak now.

I'm so dissapointed to have such problems on a car only 4 months old.

Incidentally; has anyone experienced a loud clicking/cracking noise when turning their steering wheel on full lock. The dealer replaced my clock spring, which fixed it for a while. Now the noise has come back. They say it's normal. I don't think so.

I'm seriously considering changing brands, if these problems are not sorted tommorrow.
