9HP is that it?!
so for a weekends work im only gonna gain an extra 9HP which will be about 8HP with the weight, i got a filter and exhaust on the car at the moment too, which i havent really noticed a difference with
As far as I am aware the 1.8 Twinny has 141BHP and the 2.0 has 150BHP. The newer Twinny's came with 145BHP and 155BHP though, or something like that. Either way though mate it's really not noticeable.
My mate Hammy156 off the forum has a 1.8 156 that I've been in loads of times and it can really shift, it's on par with the 2.0 Litre really, but alot of 2 Litre snobs will have you think otherwise,
I owned a 2.0 TS for a while and although quick for what it was, it wasn't any better than the 1.8. Like, at all. The V6 is a bit of a beast mind, and the power output on that is 190 and you really can tell the difference.
But yeah, the Twinn'y are about the same mate, it would be down to driver skill alone in any sort of race.
The filter and exhaust will probably just improve sound, the remap is where it's at, that'll take you to about 156BHP or so, which in a smaller engined car that's not slow to begin with will be really good.
A remap is £200 from Red.Dot Tuning and seriously worth it in my opinion, going from everything I've heard.
The 156, in all guises, has a slight flat spot up til about 3000RPM, the remap completely stomps that out apparently and throttle response is seriously improved.
The 1.8 is not a bad engine mate, it's the same as the 2 Litre really, you just gotta add a few bits and bobs and you'll have one pretty quick car on your hands,
