Driving tips anyone?
I want to know *how* I should be driving my 147.
I'm not a speed freak, so I don't want to know
how to go from 0-60 in 2 secs etc but just a few
tips on how to work the gears, any particular
things to do ot not to do, when it's OK to
use the brake etc. You know the sort of thing - ways of driving it so that you know it's an Alfa!Mine's a 1.6 manual.
I consider myself a careful driver but the 147 encourages more adventurous driving and I want to
be able to do so safely (for people) and so as
not to damage the car!
I continue to enjoy the handling but and am sure
that I have not yet relaxed into it enough, am not driving it the way it should be driven etc.
One thing I do notice, at slowish speeds is that I can feel all the undulations in the road surface. Is this normal? Is the new suspension on the tight side? I remember my last Punto 'relaxed' a little in this regard.
At faster speeds it blips straight through bumps and potholes etc.
BTW, a neighbour's son has a Merc C220 (I think) company car, black. Looks nice from the front but from every other angle, yuk, pants! Casting a gaze over the interior, again, yuk! No leather seats. My 147 has the standard sports cloth but looks so much more stylish than this light grey stuff with funny little patterns on it. The dash seemed a little old fashioned as well.
