Shudder at 2,000 rpm
This is a strange one. I drive a 2002 Alfa 147 1.6ts It happens only when I'm at 2,000rpm and in fifth gear - doing an easy 40mph. There is a distinct, regular shudder from somewhere which disappears when I increase the revs/speed. I tried just revving the engine at 2,000rpm with the car out of gear and it's dead smooth. I also put the car into neutral and coasted along doing around 40mph and not a thing!
I'm not particularly 'mechanical'. The car (45K on the clock) has been serviced regularly and has recently passed the NCT (Irish MOT) test. The timing belt has been changed. Anyone any ideas, or should I worry?
Fangio (not the real one!)
