156 chugging problem:help needed
whats the story boys and girls,
newbie here so apologies if i havnt followed the rules exactly but desperatly need some help.
my 00 156 tspark is running dog rough and heres the backround.
for the past 4 months or so, taking off in first has got a lot slower in take off speed, like there is a flat spot at about 2k revs but then just goes fine untill recently, about a month ago my car cut out at the lights while idling and continued to do so untill i parked it up and left it alone for a half an hour, ever since then when taking off in first the car chuggs violently and continues to do so up to around 3rd but not as bad. the problem doesnt happen when the car is cold only after the car has been running for about 10 mins does the problem happen and i have to rev high and release the clutch slowly to take off any way normally then bang it into 2nd!
i brought it to an alfa garafe in dunlaorie in dublin, they ran tests on it and said there was a fault with the lambda sensor, so instead of paying 400 yoyos for a part to be shipped in from england and have it fitted 3 days later, i took a trip up to mcnamaras garage in town and purchased me a lambda sensor, universal and the most common one for 120. got home and my mechanic mate next door fitted it perfectly but tthe problem is still there and no different. i need the car running 100% as my gf is about to give birth to our first and im starting a new job soon. my other mate whos an alfa service manager said it could be the air mass metre but im at a loss and cant afford to loose any more working time for the car to be looked at.
if anyone has any idea your wisdom would be gratly appreciated.
any questions just aask.
PS i had no warning lights on the dash and the ecu was not connected to a computer when the lambda was fitted.
