I dunno, maybe it's just me. I find the 1.6 great. Apparantly emmissions controls prevent low end grunt. (According to a machanic friend - not attached to Alfa).
I just work the gearbox, gets the revs high as often as possible. Then keep them high. When it warms up it's a monster. Remember, it is pulling a heavy enough car.
Every three fils I throw a tank ful of super unleaded into the tank and, 0h my god! What an engine it is then, and for at least a fill of ordinary fuel afterward.
Coupled with this, I break away from my commute (boring) daily drive, at weekends I give it a good push on the motorways.
After a fill of super and a burst along a motorway, you can take your 2 litres and shove them.
Work that 1.6 it's a monster that needs rousing! Not a single 1.6 on the market can touch it. [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]
