Clutch problem on a 147

Hi, My '04 147JTD has covered 43K miles, and recently it seems that the free play in the clutch pedal has increased quite a lot so that it needs to be pressed almost to the floor to disengage. The clutch fluid reservoir level seems OK, so could it be a problem with the master / slave cylinders or (gulp!) a new clutch? I'd welcome ideas.
Thanks in anticipation...
