My Selespeed has done 96k on a Dec '99 V plate.
All the fixings under the bonnet are really badly corroded, and I mean badly. For instance, you cant even see any threads on the A/C compressor retaining bolt! the only way to remove it would be to cut it off.
Also I tried to change my air filter the other weekend and managed to damage 2 of the 3 captive nuts, I had to invent some alturnative fixings to get it to seal.
I can't think of any good reason the corrosion would be so extreme, I used to have an '89 Peugeot 205 GTI (rubbish build quality, almost as good as the Alfa to own) and that wasn't anywhere near as bad.
Do I just have to get used to it and replace any fixings as and when I need to remove them?
