Is exhaust pipe loose on 156?

2 people in the last week have pulled up beside me and told me my exhaust pipe was shaking.

I asked the mechanic where I bought the car, and he said this is normal. The exhaust is positioned on rubber struts, so that, when it heats up, it will move around on these. Otherwise it could crack if it was too rigid.

Anyone heard of this ?

I must admit, I followed another 156 only this yesterday, I too, noticed that the exhaust was moving from side to side and was hoping mine didnt do that. Although I think it does

Hope this helps.

Yeah, they wobble a bit on the rubber mountings, but there's a flexible braided pipe at the engine end where it joins the stiff manifold part so all is hunky dory.
